Scarface

I had never seen much of Al Pacino's movies before. I remember seeing only Ocean's 13. Didnt even see Godfather for some reason. Then in August 2008 i visited New York and in one of the stores, i saw this poster of Scarface, where Pacino is with his gun and the poster read " Say hello to my little friend"........Something attracted me towards this and when i returned to my place, i immediately set myself in getting the movie....through various means which the law (??) wouldnt approve, i obtained the movie and one nice weekend sat down to watch it.

I am not going to dwell much into the story. Its a standard druglord tale. But the way Al has pulled the character off, i have never seen anyone do it better.

The movie revolves round the character named Antonio Montana, who is a refugee from cuba. The narration begins there and describes how he manages to get into drug smuggling, grow big, then "grow small" and finally bids adieu to this world.

Al scaled every peak in every scene as Montana. The cuban accent, body language, anger, greed everthing was pristine. Specifically the performance in the scene with his wife and friend at the restaurant was awesome.

This movie made me look up at Al Pacino with a different view. I ended up seeing all his movies, but i personally believe Scarface was his best performance ever.

Mounam Pesiyadhe - Opening Credits

After an eternity, i finally found some time (??) to write/start a blog.

As a true me, i created a blog account long back - sometime back in 2006 very enthusiastically, but finally writing one in 2008.

Reason - I am an epitome of "somberithanam/lazyness".

I decided to write/start today. But only when i started i realised i havent thought of what to write. how to write. Should i write for me? Should i write for others? Tamil ? English ? Is "write" the right word? or should i say blog? Should i write/blog at all?
Then came the issue of naming my blog site, the topic for this blog etc.,

After much thinking i finally decided to complete this blog thinking i have written enough for a first blog :)

I do read blogs (strictly at office only) and have been astonished with writing skills of many of my friends.
One such blog is
http://ullathilirundhu.blogspot.com/
Anyone who knows Tamil, please go through the blog. I found it captivating!

Ok, now that i have kicked off, i believe i am going to continue this.

Adhuvarai, ennidam irundhu vidai peruvadhu, Naan. :)
